SPOTLIGHT ON E&C LITIGATOR ALIX R. RUBIN

Alix R. Rubin, a partner in Entwistle & Cappucci LLP’s Business Litigation Department, sums up the nature of her work as follows: “I help employers prevent and defend employee lawsuits.”

Alix received a juris doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1996. She specializes in the litigation of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower and other work place-related matters. She also counsels management on a variety of employment issues, including reductions in force, the negotiation of employment and severance agreements, and updating employee handbooks to comply with relevant statutes and regulations.

The firm’s lawyers are involved in the community on a variety of levels, and Alix is no exception. She has been a member of the Wharton Club of New Jersey since 2005 and is one of the founding members of the club’s Women’s Special Interest Group. This year she was appointed to the District V-C Ethics Committee of the Supreme Court of New Jersey and last year to the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Pro Bono Committee. Alix has served on the board of Volunteer Lawyers for Justice since 2003, when she was named that organization’s Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. In 2001 and 2002, she served as a facilitator on the New Jersey World Trade Center Disaster Legal Response Team.
