Women's SIG (WNJW)
Guest Speaker will be Dr. Theresa Schaer Event Date: Monday, February 22nd, 2010 at 7:00pm
The Wharton NJ Women Special Interest Group (WNJW - SIG) will be holding our first regular meeting of 2010 on February 22. We have a special speaker: Dr. Theresa Schaer, a graduate of the University of California at San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Schaer was the Chief of the Division of Geriatrics at Saint Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ for 21 years. In June of 2008, she moved on to start her own practice of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, but currently she has moved beyond the illness model of medicine and is emphasizing non-pharmaceutical approaches to staying well. This is her topic for the evening with an emphasis on women’s health. Her website is www.signaturehealthsolutions.com. Dr. Schaer has been listed for many years in the Best doctors in America database, most recently for the years 2009-10. She has also been named for several years in the NJ Monthly Magazine as a “Top Doc” in New Jersey. She has been on radio and television programs discussing Geriatrics, Age-Management and Medical Ethics. Although she is in private practice now, she continues to be involved in teaching as a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and also as a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Drexel School of Medicine, teaching at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. WNJW welcomes Dr. Schaer on February 22 at 7:00 PM. WNJW meets monthly to discuss topics of interest to the group. It is open to members and potential members of the club. There is no fee to attend and light supper will be available. Location will be emailed to you after you have registered and eligibility is determined (must be a Wharton or UPenn student or alum).
