Did you know?

     · 20% of the US workforce is made up of women in some stage of the menopause journey.

     · 75% of women experience symptoms. If left untreated, the annual additional healthcare costs average $2000 per person per year.

     · Untreated menopausal symptoms were associated with 57% more indirect work productivity loss days according to People, Health & Benefits.

     · 64% of women want menopause-specific benefits.

During a Zoom presentation, Dr. Edwards will discuss the impact of menopause on the workplace. This normal life transition represents an overlooked opportunity relative to benefits, the cost of care, chronic condition risks, optimization of disease management, improvement of overall health and well-being, and both recruitment and retention of talent. Dr. Edwards will also provide a framework employers can use to address the unmet needs of employees (and their dependents) on the menopause journey.

Z. Colette Edwards, MD, MBA is the Founder and Chief Medical Officer of pausitive health, an holistic digital health start-up which offers a one-step destination for omnichannel education, care, resources, and an online community for those in all stages of the menopause journey.

She has leveraged additional training in health and wellness coaching at the Maryland University of Integrative Health and in health equity as a member of the NIH Scholars Program in translational health disparities.

Dr. Edwards received a BA from Harvard University, an MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Wharton School.

Dr. Edwards is the Managing Editor of the Wharton Healthcare Quarterly, the author of Be Less Stressed, and a McGraw-Hill GI text, was a contributing writer to Thrive Global, provided COVID-19 updates and resources as part of the Harvard Alumni/ae Community Helps initiative.
