During a crisis such as the current pandemic, companies sometimes face existential threats during their lifetime. The keys to getting better outcomes are recognizing the signs of distress early, and then intervening effectively. However, few management teams have experience with dealing with distress, and outside assistance can also provide needed credibility with stakeholders. Wharton alum Howard Brod Brownstein (BS/BA ’71) has been a turnaround professional for thirty years, and is nationally-known for his role in some high-profile cases. He will share with us the tools and techniques of turnaround and crisis management, as well as answer your questions about the current situation.

Key learnings will include:

1)  Turnaround management and restructuring
2)  Managing for cash
3)  Managing risk aggressively
4)  Acting/intervening early
5)  Strengthening corporate governance
